About Me

I’m Michael. I am a journalist and linguistics graduate from Lancaster University.

I am interested in news, local news and feature writing – but also frequently write on topics where I have specialist knowledge – such as tourism and education.

I was a web journalist for Blooloop, one of the largest industry news sites for the tourism industry. Currently, I work on marketing a customer success for edtech start-up Unibuddy.

I was the Associate Editor for SCAN, Lancaster’s student newspaper.

I was selected by Lancaster University to travel to Chennai, India (expenses-paid) to work with the media team of the WBCSD. I wrote about my experiences here.

I have been interviewed on national and regional BBC Radio Stations on various topics after writing freelance articles.

I have learnt extensively about journalism. I was selected by the British Council to attend a conference for Young Journalists in Glasgow. I have also attended Amnesty International’s Media Summit and the Student Publication Association Conference. In addition I have attended training run by FEU and my Students’ Union.
